We Are Currently Experiencing Technical Difficulties....

Hello Dhaaarlings...

would you believe it if i told you that last monday I was abducted by a colony of baby dingo's

No Neither would I! But given that I haven't been about for the past couple of days
you would be forgiven for thinking so...

The truth of the matter is... My Computer died! with no more notice than a sudden grinding and shuddering and a complete automatic shutdown and refusal to reload. It ist caput!

A pox on computers I say!

It has taken until now for me to procure an old dinosour from my brothers collection of archaic beasts just so that I might inform you all of my current situation...

It has meant that I missed my birthday party held for me at the Lovely Chez Infomaniac
and all of your well wishings for my 50th.
It must have seemed  to you that Princess is most ungreatful and rude bitch for not even putting in an appearance at her own party.
nor replying to your lovely comments!

I am anything but! I have had tears of heartfelt joyous hilarity streaming form my eyes on reading your good wishes, humourous banter and notes of concern as to my whereabouts.... And I thank you all most sincerely!

I'm feeling like my Birthday has gone on all week and it has really... but I will tell you more about that later.

For now I would just like to express my gratitude and thanks to each and every one of you.

Normal transmission will resume as soon as the Poxfilled old Bitch comes back from the clinic...

Till then I'm Popping champagne corks in your honour!

Up To Some... Monkey Business!!!

Hello Dhaaarlings...

Princess has been flat out phaffing over a pile of pale blue velleure stretch and contrasting grey fur in the process of creating some "monkey business"...

Here's a Sneak Peak

6 headpieces yet to have their fez hats attached...

And matching pale blue body suits...

I've still to make the bolero jackets and "modesty shorts" that will be worn over the top of the body suit... But that is tomorrows task...

I had a brief meeting with the "head costumier" yesterday.... Who I think was hoping that I would take on some of her work as she is still having "terrible trouble" with her sewing machine...

Instead I commiserated with her over her mechanical difficulties and let her know that I too had been having problems with a broken over-locking machine that has been out of action for the past week.

During the conversation I bought her up to speed as to my progress so far and in the same conversation managed to nicely handball some extra work her way! Yes! I know.... It's not often that Princess actually stands up for herself!

Given that I have the bulk of the support cast costumes over (120 at the moment) to make I figured that adding another 24 Winkie Costumes to my current responsibilities would be too greater job without any assistance.

The Winkies are the Wicked Witches Guardsmen that are dressed in great coats and big furry beefeater hats.

There has been no further discussion regarding what their costumes were to be made of or who was to purchase the fabric to create the costumes since early planning meetings. Each time I have mentioned winkies in the past when have found suitable fabrics and trims I been told that the costumes are to be sourced form existing stock or procured from opportunity shops.

So yesterday I kindly informed her that I would be unable to make the Winkie costumes and given that she only has 15 lead cast costumes to make I figured that taking on another 24 costumes seemed to be quite a reasonable request...

To this she replied..."Oh well...I'll just have to find someone else to make them then!" and then went on to say how there hasn't been any response to her requests for volunteers to help her make the costumes that she is making already.....

Is my frustration level showing???

Anyway

Today I suddenly realised...

That it is still "The Year of the Arse" Darlings

So lets Celebrate

Haiku Monday.

Hello Dhaaarlings...

A little bird told me about Haiku Monday this week (thank you Huggy Jon)

and it is a most timely theme...

Having not played for some time I thought I'd have a small attempt at an entry given that the theme is...

 "OZ"

And as most of you that visit here regularly will know that I am currently up to my armpits in Poppies, Crows, Jitterbugs, Emeralds City Inhabitants, Munchkins, Cyclones and eventually Flying Monkeys
So it seems a rather fitting theme... Don't you think?

Haiku Monday is being being hosted by Raffa over at

this week so click on the link above and check out all the other fabulous entries
And check out some of the previous posts here at "The Palais"
for progress reports on the costumes that I'm in the process of creating...

Over the Rainbow?
You've got to be kidding me...
There's no place like Home

Happy Haiku Monday Darlings...

Another Monthly.... June...

Hello Dhaaarlings....

Another Month is upon us!

Where the hell is this year going? It just seems like a minute ago I was wishing everyone a happy month of Masturbation for May.... I guess time flies when one is having fun... and here we are in June!

The time just fly's by so quickly, and Autumn is turning to Winter here in Oz
The days are becoming shorter and the colder weather is settling in.
We have already had some early snow back in April which is almost unheard of around these parts and already jack frost is leaving his mark in the wee hours most mornings.
I wake up to crisp cold mornings which so far now have fortunately been filled with pleasant sunshine til about 4 in the afternoons when the air takes on the familiar chill of night once again.

Apart from the weather there has been much good news around the Palais...

My brother and his family finally sold their business and have moved into temporary rental housing. They have bought a large block of land and are in the process of having a house moved onto it. the block of land has a well established though somewhat neglected orchard with all manner of apple pear, plum, peach, nectarine, nashi pear, and cherry trees on it. They plan to add some citrus and nut trees to the existing orchard and possibly add some berries as well.
No doubt I will be posting some pics as they come to hand.

I have continued to remain busy with costumes.

The 30 Poppy costumes are now completed!

The Crow Costumes are well underway the heads are completed.
I've completed  four of the eight tux jackets and am in the process of over-locking hundreds of individual pieces of black fabric shaped like feathers....

to be sewn onto black net to create the wings on the jackets.

The next costumes to tackle will be the Jitterbugs! but I'll show you my plans for them in another post!

Then it will be time for the Flying Monkeys!
I've planned to do them last as there is talk of bungee cords and trampolines and swing bars.... so I want to see what sort of treatment they will have to stand up to before I go ahead and make them, given that the kids will need to be safe in them while flying about the stage!

The Empresses Health is in a holding pattern at present. We have been unable to get another MRI booked until August! So the panicky urgency expressed by the specialist at last visit regarding the early signs of a ? potential small ??benign??? malignant brain tumour, seem have quelled somewhat. Attempts to book an MRI prior to this have been futile and we even had to cancel the May appointment with the specialist.

 As the Empress said....

"Well what's the point of going all the way to town if I haven't had another scan yet! What's he going to review? My outfit?"...

She remains asymptomatic and the review with her GP suggested that the urgency seemed a little overstated.

On the other hand.... we are in the process of  booking a referral for another review with the Hip Specialist. The Empress has been experiencing intermittent pain in her left hip joint. She is back to walking with a cane and has started on some slow release pain relief. She had a total left hip replacement about 6 years ago and had been doing really well until her right hip disintegrated with an undiagnosed osteonecrotic arthritis. the right hip was replaced 2 years ago now .

But since having a bad fall while out waking with the grandchildren during the School break earlier in the year she's been having bouts of pain in her left hip that comes and goes.
These bouts have been increasing in frequency since the last review in February, So I think that it is time we had a review again.
X rays are booked for early next week!

Did I mention that we have a new temporary addition to the household?
One of my brothers Dogs....

Fuck off with the camera Bitch!
Meet Spot!

I'm told he's a miniature Jack Russell what ever that means, He has a lovely temperament and keeps himself busy all day hunting around the yard. He has been an "Outside dog" until coming to live at the palais... It's only taken 2 weeks to house train him with only one or two  unfortunate "Accidents" during that time, nothing that a bit of kitchen towel and a mop couldn't handle!
I was expecting much worse....

Anyway darlings..... I've prattled on for long enough and If you have been bothered to read down this far.... then here's a nice little song and dance number to get you in the mood for the new month...

And don't' forget....

A Message from the Empress...
He wanted me not to say anything but I just can't... Princess is going to be turning 50 later this month...
But it's meant to not be spoken about as he keeps getting very antsy every time I mention wanting to have a  party for him .... Shhhhhhhh..... don't say I told you now will you? In the meantime I'll keep working on him
